Butterfly Rainforest

This is the Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Natural History Museum. There are a ton of different species of butterflies and birds. My favorite butterflies were the Tree Nymphs, they are mainly white with black striping on them. Every butterfly’s pattern is symmetrical, unless there is a rip in the wing or some other type of damage. There were also at least a dozen different species of finches, no more than 3 different species of doves, and an Ivory-Billed Aracaris.

The Ivory-Billed Aracaris (Pteroglossus azara) found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, and it lives in tropical rain forests. It is the smallest Aracaris, it is in the Ramphastidae family, and it weighs less than a half of a pound. Its diet consists of mainly of fruits, and it gets most of its water from the fruit it eats.
